Spring rain rushing, puddles gushing. Can gobbler come out to play? Gobbler is a little dragon, or faerie creature, that makes his home in road side ditches, mud puddles, and any place that rain water collects. He is very playful and encourages you to find that inner child. The one who used to splash and not care if your shoes became dirty and your socks were soaked. So the next time it rains, welcome the water, and the squelch-squelch between your toes.
Gobbler has lived in my sketch book for a few years now.
Through the Tiny Dragons Art Project I was finally able to bring him to life and share him with other’s for the first time. I began by creating more sketches of Gobbler, and feeling out his personality. He is a mischievously little one! He went through several incarnations before settling on the one you see in the Tiny Dragons book. For you see, Gobbler, may be a tiny dragon, but he is also a creature of faerie.
I’m so happy to be a part of the Tiny Dragons Art Project, and I know Gobbler is too!
The project is a collection of 3 art books featuring art from over 200 artists from around the world. The books are fun, playful, and tiny, meant to fit within a child’s hand, and share a bit of the wonder that many of us feel when we think of dragons. You can learn more about the project on its Kickstarter.
